OUR PURPOSE AND ACTIVITIES The purpose of our choir is to cultivate and foster German Choral singing in the United States. Our main focus remains our singing and the preservation of our German Heritage. We are members of the Michigan Saengerbezirk, the Nord Amerikanischer Saengerbund and the German Saengerbund. Because of our frequent domestic and international travel, our choir members established many close and permanent ties to members of choirs here in the USA and in Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic during our visits and joint singing sessions with them. Our choir performs at two Concerts here at the Carpathia Hall on Utica Street in Sterling Heights: A Spring Concert around Mothers Day, and A Fall Concert at the Thanksgiving weekend. In addition we hold and sponsor two well attended functions at the Carpathia at the Carpathia Hall. Our popular Old World Christmas Market in December and a Mardi Gras Costume Ball during Karneval season. During the year our members contribute their time and efforts to collect and distribute Food Clothing Blankets and other needed items to the less fortunate on numerous occasions.
